This course will help the student compile a resume, cover letter, and portfolio while equipping him/her to consider how he/she will transition from the classroom to Christians in the field of retail merchandising.

Discussions (5)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to post five original threads on topics assigned from Fashion Merchandising. For each discussion, the student must post a thread of at least 500 words and answer the prompt provided, demonstrating understanding of course materials. Then, the student must post at least one reply of 150 words. (CLO: A)

The student will analyze how a theology of vocation relates to calling within the field of fashion merchandising. The article review must be between 4—5 pages in length and use current APA format. (CLO: D)
Handshake Account Assignment
The student will set up and complete a Handshake account to use in applying for jobs and scheduling a mock interview using his/her Liberty University email address. (CLO: B)
Cover Letter and Resume Assignment
The student will develop a cover letter and resume tailored to one of the following careers in Fashion Merchandising: Buyer, Retail Manager, Sales Representative, Stylist, or Visual Display Specialist. The cover letter and resume should each be one page in length. (CLO: B)
Mock Interview Assignment
The student will practice written responses to typical interview questions in preparation for post-graduation interviews. Each of the prompt responses should be at least 200 words. (CLO B)
Digital Portfolio Assignment
The Digital Portfolio Assignment requires the student to clearly assess his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities and how those will translate into employment. The student will highlight his/her artistic abilities and skills through the creation of a portfolio that is uniquely the student’s and that displays his/her talents and knowledge to prospective employers. Quizzes (8)
The quizzes will cover the reading and study material for the assigned Modules: Weeks. The quizzes will be open-book/open-notes, contain 5–10 questions, and have a 20-minute time limit.
