Rationale
The interior design industry is a fast paced demanding vocation. Clients desire to see a visual plan of a proposed project. Digital drafting skills give students the ability quickly satisfy the demand of a professionally drafted plan. Digital plans also can be quickly modified which is essential in redesigning for the interiors.
Course Assignment
Assignment
In preparation for Interior Design student’s sophomore review and senior portfolio review, students are to create an on-line portfolio using Wix or another vendor of their choosing.

In preparation for Interior Design student’s sophomore review and senior portfolio review, students will create a unique logo that will be incorporated into their on-line portfolio. This logo will also be incorporated into their plan set’s title block.

Student will create a .dwg file with the prescribed layers and line weights. This file will serve as the foundation on which all drafting assignments will be built.

Utilizing the draw and modify commands, students will demonstrate their ability to create a highly complex and unique design using the hatch tool.

Students will translate an existing plan into AutoCAD using the dimensions and notes provided.

Students will manipulate the existing conditions plan into a demolition plan.

Students will manipulate the demolition floor plan into a new construction plan.

Students will demonstrate their ability to successfully manipulate line weights on a prescribed elevation.

Students will create elevations that successfully correlate to their new construction plan.

Students will replicate detail drawings that accurately represent the style of their kitchen cabinet designs.

Students will compile their drawings into a plan set.

Students will submit their URL address with all of the prescribed corrected drawings from this course.
