Transportation planning is essential for sustainable development, shaping cities, enabling economic activities, promoting community interaction, and enhancing quality of life. While traveling in the United States, people uses various transportation modes including automobile, bus, public transits which provides different level of convenience, travel time, and cost. This course presents the transportation planning process using various travel demand forecasting models. This course develops the student’s knowledge base to be able to collect traffic data necessary for transportation planning and design transportation systems and infrastructures including transportation network, parking facilities, drainage, and pavements.
