Discussions (8)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be 500-600 words, use at least 1 citation in current MLA format, and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at 250-300 words and must extend the discussion. For 7 of the discussions, the student must include at least 1 short quote from the assigned reading (1-2 sentence quote) in current MLA format.
Thesis and Outline Assignment
The Thesis and Outline Assignment will assist the student in completing their Final Paper Assignment and will consist of 2 parts: a paragraph description of the student’s future paper and an outline of how their paper will progress. The student will choose 1 larger work of literature or a short number of smaller works of literature to analyze against their chosen methodology. The chosen methodology must be one of the methodologies reviewed in the course. The student will then create an introductory paragraph of 250-300 words that includes a thesis and general strategy of how this thesis will be proved. The student will then create an outline containing at least 3 main ideas and at least 10 subpoints and/or further subpoints for each main idea described in brief phrases or complete sentences. The assignment must cite at least 2 sources and must follow current MLA guidelines.
Final Paper Assignment
The student will write a 10-15-page research-based paper (not including the works cited page) in current MLA format that utilizes 1 of the methodologies reviewed in the course. The paper must include at least 8 scholarly citations in addition to the primary chosen text(s) and the Bible. The paper must demonstrate a Christian perspective and/or Christian Worldview. The student should utilize the Thesis and Outline Assignment in completing this assignment.
