Course Description

This course is intended to provide guidance and information regarding the expectations and requirements for the student’s program (Gate 1). Candidates will submit Gate 1 Application requirements in this course.

For information regarding prerequisites for this course, please refer to the Academic Course Catalog.

Rationale

This course should be taken the semester prior to EDUC 221 or EDUC 225, dependent on the candidate's program.

Course Assignment

Quizzes

To submit the assignments required in this course, the student will review each section of the Gate 1 Application.  For each assignment, the student will need to complete the step of the Gate 1 Application. Once the student has completed that step, the student will need to access the quiz in Canvas that aligns with that assignment and complete the quiz.

  1. Quiz: Background Clearance
    • This quiz will reflect the student's acknowledgment and initiation of the required School of Education background clearance.
  2. Quiz: Field Experience
    • This quiz will reflect the student's acknowledgment of the required field experience expectations.
  3. Quiz: Program Acknowledgments
    • This quiz will reflect the student's acknowledgment of the general program expectations.
  4. Quiz: Testing Acknowledgments
    • This quiz will reflect the student's acknowledgment of the testing requirements for the program.
  5. Quiz: Student Teaching Acknowledgment
    • This quiz will reflect the student's acknowledgment of the student teaching expectations.

You have to have a lot of self-motivation and self-discipline when you are going to school online, but the amazing thing is at Liberty you do not need to do it by yourself. You really do have resources like someone who is going to school on campus.
