Rationale
Educators must be prepared to create, interpret, and analyze classroom tests. Understanding the categories of tests, how to design and use appropriate tests, and basic knowledge of the legal, social, and political issues surrounding tests is necessary for all early childhood, elementary, middle, and secondary educators. Furthermore, educators must understand the theoretical frameworks used to create tests and how students respond in order to effectively create and utilize this assessment tool.

Discussions (3)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the candidate is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. Each thread must be 400-500 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the candidate is required to reply to two other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 150-200 words. For each thread and reply, the candidate must support their assertions with at least one scholarly citation and must integrate one biblical principle into their conclusions. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
Journal Critique Assignments (3)
For each Journal Critique, the candidate will choose an article to evaluate and critique. The chosen articles must relate to the specific assigned topic for that Module: Week and must be selected from varying professional journals. Additionally, all articles must be current (published within the last 5 years). The critique will include three sections in the main body: a summary, an analysis, and a personal application. Each section, plus the introductory and concluding paragraphs, must be at least 100–150 words; thus, the total length of the assignment will be 500–750 words. At least one citation from the textbook must be included, along with citations from the selected journal article. Title and references pages must be included. (CLO: B, C, D, E)
edTPA Practice Task 3 Assignment
Candidates will complete an edTPA practice task about high-quality assessment and student feedback. Candidates will use evidence found in three student work samples and a whole-class summary to complete an analysis. (CLO: A, C, D, E)
Assessment Project Assignments (3)
This project will include three parts:
Assessment Project: Part 1 – Review Assignment
The candidate will review multiple reliable and validated assessments. The candidate will discuss each assessment reviewed, the background on the assessment, and the recommendations for use. The candidate’s responses to the five prompts must each be 200-400 words. A title page and references listing are required.
Assessment Project: Part 2 – Create Assignment
The candidate will create an original assessment portfolio.
Assessment Project: Part 3 – Reflect Assignment
The candidate will compare the assessments in Part 1 and Part 2.
Quizzes (5)
Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned modules: weeks. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 8 – 10 multiple-choice questions, allow 1 attempt, and have a 30-60-minute time limit. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
