ECON 613 Microeconomic Theory

Course Description

This course provides students with an understanding of the economic concepts necessary for sound business decision making. Concepts to be analyzed include consumer behavior, firm structure, market structure, factors of production, market efficiency, and market equilibrium. The interrelationships between these factors and their impact on the firm will be discussed.

Discussions (7)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete 7 Discussions in this course. The student will post one thread of at least 300 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module: Week. The student must then post 1 reply of at least 150 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the assigned Module: Week. For each thread, the student must support their assertions with at least 1 scholarly citation in APA format. Each reply must incorporate at least 1 scholarly citation in APA format. Any sources cited must have been published within the last five years. Acceptable sources include the textbook, the Bible, etc.

Research Paper Assignment

The student is required to write a 7-page, double-spaced paper (not counting the current APA formatted title and reference pages). The abstract is not needed. The research paper topic must be about a microeconomic issue with a minimum of 3 references from published scholarly articles.

After reading the chapters, the student will take quizzes from LearnSmart with unlimited attempts.

There will be 7 quizzes for chapters to be completed through Connect. Each test will cover the Reading & Study material for the modules/weeks in which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice questions, and have a 2-hour time limit. The student will have one opportunity to complete each test.
