This course provides students with an understanding of the economic concepts necessary for sound business decision making. Concepts to be analyzed include consumer behavior, firm structure, market structure, factors of production, market efficiency, and market equilibrium. The interrelationships between these factors and their impact on the firm will be discussed.
This course presents the powerful analytical tools that enable students to solve microeconomic problems that occur in business world.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Discussion Board Forums (7)
Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will be presented with questions in Discussion Board Forums. The student is required to answer 1 question in each forum with at least 1 citation in current APA format. Each Discussion Board Forum thread must be at least 300 words. The student must also reply to 1 classmate’s thread, and the reply must be at least 150 words.
The student is required to write a 5–7 page, double-spaced paper (not counting the title page, reference page, or the abstract).The research paper topic must be about a microeconomic issue with a minimum of 3 references. The student must email the topic and the outline of the paper to the instructor for approval before working on the paper.
After reading the chapters, the student will take quizzes from LearnSmart with unlimited attempts.
There will be 7 tests to be completed through Connect. Each test will cover the Reading & Study material for the modules/weeks in which it is assigned. Each test will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice questions, and have a 2-hour time limit. The student will have one opportunity to complete each test.
