DBPC 405 Childhood Issues, Trauma and Abuse

This course provides a knowledge base and increased awareness for difficult problems related, but not limited to, conduct, eating, sleeping, high-needs kids, ADHD, and a special focus on trauma and abuse in the childhood years. Ethical concerns and multicultural factors are also considered.

Discussions (4)

Childhood Issue Annotated Bibliography Assignment

The APA annotated bibliography will provide students the opportunity to research the childhood issue chosen in their previous discussion board by identifying and reviewing six specific sources as outlined in the instructions within the course. (CLOs: A, B, E)

4-MAT Review Assignment

The 4-MAT Review system is a way of responding to readings that requires the learner to interact with new ideas on several levels, including a Summary, Concrete Responses, Academic Critique, and Personal Application. The 4MAT review will be written over Seven Solutions for Burned Out Parents. Please see the specific assignment instructions included within the course. (CLO: A)

Childhood Issue PowerPoint Presentation Assignment

Students will build upon the work done in Modules 3 and 4 to create a 5-7 min PowerPoint presentation on their chosen childhood issue. The presentation will be designed for use within the church to provide education and advocacy among leaders and those who work with children.
