This course will delve deeper into the crisis lifecycle and focus on the crisis and post-crisis stage. Students will have the opportunity to navigate through an organizational crisis to develop real outcomes that could be used in any professional application.

Discussion: Introduction Video
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete one Discussion: Introduction Video in this course. The student will record a short video introducing himself/herself to the class. The student should post this in the initial thread. The length of the video should be 2-4 minutes. Then, the student will post a written response of 200 words to 2 other classmates’ video introductions.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete four standard discussions within this course. The content of this course is extensive and will require the student to look at a variety of concepts in a variety of ways. The student will have to think analytically, articulate carefully, and work quickly. The student will prepare an initial thread of at least 400 words and then respond to at least 2 of their peers in at least 250 words each. For each thread, the student include at least three scholarly citations, including at least one of the texts, and 1 biblical reference in current APA format. Each reply must incorporate at least two scholarly citations and 1 biblical reference in current APA format.
Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) in Action Assignment
This assignment delves into Coombs’ Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and how it should be applied to a recent crisis. The student will consider the principles of the theory and also illustrate the impact on a real event. This paper will be approximately 1,000 words (3-4 pages) and in current APA format. You will delve into the critical role of communication during a crisis and analyze how it shapes an organization’s recovery and future performance. Crisis Strategies Assignment
This assignment analyzes how schools and universities can best communicate with students, parents, and staff during a crisis (e.g., school shooting, natural disaster, building fires, etc.). This paper will be approximately 1,000 words and in current APA format. The paper must include at least 8 references, including the course texts and the Bible.
