CMUS 496 Commercial Music Project

This is a capstone course usually completed near the end of the degree program. This course involves preparing a capstone commercial music project, which can be a recording project, songwriting program, film scoring program, applied performance, or research paper.

This capstone project allows the student to combine material learned from various courses to create a unique work that can be used as a stepping stone toward future career opportunities.

Capstone Plan Assignment

In this assignment, the student determines his or her planned project option. The student will write a 2-page paper that includes an explanation of why the student chose this capstone option, an application of insights gained from his or her degree that will be implemented into the project, and clear objectives as to how his or her capstone project will impact the commercial music industry. Current Turabian formatting is required. 

Capstone Draft Assignments (11)

The student will submit capstone drafts in each module to document his or her progress and receive feedback from his or her professor. Each draft should reflect updates based on the comments provided by the student’s professor in the previous submission. 

Capstone Final Submission Assignment

The student will submit his or her completed final capstone and all files as requested by his or her professor.

Quiz: Topic, Experience, and Availability

The student will submit a quiz that provides his or her preferred topic, experiences in ministry, and availability for weekly meetings with his or her professor. The quiz consists of 4 essay questions. There is no time limit for the quiz.
