CLED 886 Praxis II: Planning & Design II

This course focuses on the development of a literature framework for the proposal. The literature framework serves as both the comprehensive exams for the program and as the literature review chapter of the dissertation-in-praxis proposal. The second chapter of the dissertation-in-praxis proposal is developed in this course.

This course is the second in a six-course sequence that leads to the development of the Dissertation-in-Praxis. In this course, the student will continue the process of creating the proposal. The student will write chapter two of a proposal for a program, process, or product applicable in a Christian leadership context. Chapter two presents the Literature Frame on which the proposal will be based.

Discussions (5)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will participate in 5 collaborative discussions. In this course, the student will write the first draft of chapter two (The Literature Framework) of his/her Dissertation-in-Praxis proposal. This chapter will appear in the dissertation as well. The student will also be simultaneously writing his/her comprehensives as part of these assignments. These discussions are cooperative in nature and are the student’s opportunity to learn, inquire, and refine his/her understanding of this chapter and its content. Each thread must be at least 400 words. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to the threads of at least 2 classmates. Each reply must be at least 200 words.

Biblical and Theological Framework Assignment

This assignment serves two purposes. First, it serves as Comprehensive Exam #1. Second, it serves as a segment of Chapter Two of the Dissertation-in-Praxis (DiP) Proposal document.

  • As Compressive Exam #1, it will allow the student to demonstrate that he/she can apply and integrate biblical and theological themes developed in CLED700, CLED720, and CLED800 with his/her dissertation topic.
  • As a segment of the DiP proposal document, the student will be writing a first draft of the biblical and theological framework section of “Chapter Two: The Literature Framework” of the Dissertation-in-Praxis Proposal.

Theoretical Framework Assignment

This assignment serves two purposes. First, it serves as Comprehensive Exam #2. Second, it serves as a segment of Chapter Two of the Dissertation-in-Praxis (DiP) Proposal document.

  • As Compressive Exam #2, it will allow the student to demonstrate that he/she can apply and integrate themes developed in CLED815, CLED820, CLED835, CLED845, and CLED855 with his/her dissertation topic.
  • As a segment of the DiP proposal document, the student will be writing a first draft of the theoretical framework section of “Chapter Two: The Literature Framework” of the Dissertation-in-Praxis Proposal.

Thematic Framework Assignment

This assignment serves two purposes. First, it serves as Comprehensive Exam #3. Second, it serves as a segment of Chapter Two of the Dissertation-in-Praxis (DiP) Proposal document.

  • As Compressive Exam #3, it will allow the student to demonstrate that he/she can apply and integrate themes developed in his/her cognate courses with the dissertation program, process, or product he/she intends to pursue in the Dissertation-in-Praxis.
  • As a segment of the DiP proposal document, the student will be writing a first draft of the thematic framework section of “Chapter Two: The Literature Framework” of the Dissertation-in-Praxis Proposal.
