Course Description
This course provides a detailed overview of process of raising capital for new business ventures. Topics include planning for fundraising, negotiating valuation, funding for startups and small businesses, funding for diversity businesses, funding for inventions and innovations, and community-based funding.

Rationale
BUSI 743 is an in-depth exploration of current research and theory supporting the development and application of Lean Six Sigma processes across the supply chain in the current business environment.
Course Assignment
All required readings are listed within the module and accessible through the JFL.
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, this course requires 7 distinct discussions.
For six of the discussions, the student will post one thread of at least 500 words. The student must then post 1 reply of at least 250 words. For each thread, students must support their assertions with at least 2 scholarly citations in APA format. Each reply must incorporate at least 2 scholarly citation(s) in APA format.
For Discussion: Business Integrity Through Excellence, the student must write a minimum of 600 words in the body of his/her initial thread. The student must also use a minimum of 2 sources from the literature in addition to course texts. This discussion will also include an Annotated Bibliography of the 2 additional sources with a minimum of 250 words in each annotation. The student will also reply to one of his/her classmate’s threads. Each reply should have a minimum of 250 words in the body and a minimum of 2 sources cited from the literature in addition to course texts.
For this assignment, the student must develop the outline for the literature review. The student will use the provided Research Questions. The outline will include a minimum of one level of indentation below each Research Question with not less than two sub‐headings not including the Summary. Following each sub-heading the student will provide a one to two sentence description of what will be covered in that section of the literature review.
Literature Review: Draft Submission Assignment
The Literature Review: Draft Submission Assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool. This assignment will allow students to submit a draft of the final submission and make any necessary edits prior to submitting the final assignment.
For this assignment, the outline generated in the Literature Review: Outline Assignment must be followed, including any feedback from the instructor. This assignment will include a minimum of 24 pages of written content, not including introduction, conclusion, front matter, reference section, and any tables or figures provided. There must be no less than 8 pages of content addressing each research question. A minimum of 18 current sources not including course texts should be cited. There should be no less than 6 current sources for each research question not including the course texts.
