BUSI 630 Managerial Epidemiology

This course provides students with a foundation of knowledge and skills to plan, organize and manage health services while addressing various epidemiologic methods. The course focuses on the need for healthcare administrators to evaluate epidemiologic data on incidence and prevalence while addressing the impact of administrative data on cost and quality to improve access and delivery of high quality services in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Discussions (3)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be at least 300-500 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge and research. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 3 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 150-300 words. Each thread must be supported by at least 1 peer-reviewed resource in addition to the course textbook and the Bible. Each reply must be supported by at least 1 scholarly reference. All sources must have been published within the last 5 years. All citations must be formatted in current APA format.

Case Study Assignments (4)

The student will complete 4 case study assignments responding to the questions posed. The case responses must include sufficient support (at least 2 scholarly sources less than 5 years old, the Bible, and the course textbook for each answer) cited in current APA formatting. Each case study response should be 2-3 pages of content, not including the reference page, and include biblical integration.

Geographic Market Analysis Project Assignment

A geographic market analysis project is a method of market analysis that uses digital tools to identify potential customers and prospects. It’s a way to divide an audience into groups based on their location. By completing a geographic market analysis, the student can develop a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare market in his/her area and create a strategic plan that demonstrates his/her analytical and planning skills. The student will utilize the provided template to present their findings and strategic plan of action. Any sources utilized should be current and cited in current APA formatting. 

The student will write a 3-5 page paper, (not including the title page, abstract, or reference page), to identify and discuss key Christian principles that are relevant to healthcare management. The student will then utilize at least 1 Christian principle to discuss and analyze a health management topic and how Christian values can influence decision-making and practices within the healthcare management field. The student should provide examples, case studies, or real-world scenarios to support their assertions. The Bible is a required resource for this assignment. All sources must be cited in current APA formatting. 

Quizzes (3)

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned modules: weeks up to the date of the module: week of the quiz. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice, multiple-answer, and true/false questions, allow for 1 attempt, and have a 45-minute time limit.
