BUSI 447 Digital and Web Analytics

Students are introduced to techniques and resources required to successfully analyze data points in various digital environments to maximize the value of an organization’s digital marketing efforts. Students will develop skills to evaluate meaning from those data points specifically using tools and technology from within the industry.

The consumer is continually adopting new ways to search, evaluate and purchase products and services in the online space. Knowing how to measure consumer engagement, analyze data trails consumers leave and utilize the data given to make strategic offerings each consumer will want is vital. Organizations are accumulating more data on consumers than ever before. These organizations need a qualified individual that can maximize the effective use of this data.

Discussions (8)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided topic for each discussion.  Each thread must be at least 500 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. The thread must cite two scholarly research articles and one biblical integration in current APA format. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to two classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 250 words and include citations of at least two scholarly research articles and one biblical integration in current APA format. 

Extracting Meaning from Data Report Assignment

The student will discuss the various sources of data a company can quickly utilize to understand various important aspects of his or her business. The assignment must be a minimum of 1000 words and include two scholarly citations in current APA format.

Measuring E-mail Campaign Report Assignment

The student will develop an e-mail campaign for a company of his or her choice. This campaign will give details of what the campaign is trying to accomplish, how it will do such, and most importantly how the success of the campaign will be measured. The paper is to be a minimum of 1,000 words and include two scholarly citations in current APA format.

Google Analytics Individual Qualification Assignment

This qualification can be worked on in the weeks leading up to the due date. The GAIQ consists of watching several videos, experiencing practice exercises and completing quizzes for each lesson.  The student will complete two “lessons” that qualify them to take the GAIQ exam via Google. The student will upload his or her completed GAIQ certification to receive points for this assignment. 

Data Visualization Report Assignment

The student will create various visual reports with Excel, Tableau, Power Bi, and other software. The paper is to be a minimum of 1,000 words and include two scholarly citations in current APA format.

Digital Presence/Website Analysis Plan Assignment

Each student will analyze a website for an organization (for profit business or non-profit organization) and write a report describing the strengths and weaknesses of the site and the organization’s entire online presence. The student will assess the search result strength, analyze content effectiveness, and assess options for suggested improvements of such. The student will submit the assignment electronically on Canvas. The paper is to be a minimum of 1,500 words and include two scholarly citations in current APA format.

Quizzes (5)

There are five quizzes that will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module: Week. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 20 multiple-choice and/or true/false questions, and have no time limit.
