Rationale
This course will explore the concepts of financial management in health care as they relate to the ambulatory and hospital markets. An understanding of revenue cycle management, insurance reimbursements, budgeting/forecasting, contract management, internal control, and financial reporting are integral in order to make sound financial decisions.

Discussions (4)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to 1 of the provided prompts for each discussion. Each thread must be 400–500 words. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 250–300 words. Each thread and reply must contain at least 2 references other than the textbook and at least 1 biblical integration. Current APA format must be used.
Homework Assignments (4)
The student will be assigned a variety of short answer and essay homework questions for each assignment.
Research Paper Assignment
The student will write an 8–10-page research paper on a topic that is related to health care financial theories/topics. The paper must follow current APA format and utilize at least 5 scholarly resources. A title page is required and is not included in the page count.
Quizzes (4)
Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned modules. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 28–40 multiple-choice, true/false, and short answer questions, and have a 1-hour and 30-minute time limit.
