Course Requirements Checklist

After reading the Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.

Discussions (4)

The student will have four discussions throughout the course. The student will create a thread in response to the prompt in each discussion. The initial thread must be at least 500 words. In addition, the student is required to reply to the thread of another student. The reply must be at least 200 words. Initial thread must be posted by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module: Week. A reply to one other student’s thread must be posted by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the same Module: Week.

Homework (8)

The student will complete homework that correspond with the weekly textbook readings. The reviews consist of 10 questions for each chapter in the assigned reading (with the exception of the Genesis of Germs online chapters for which there are no questions). There is no time limit for the reviews and they can be repeated up to three times. For each attempt, the student will be able to revise missed questions. However, 5% will be deducted from the overall score for each attempt (not compounded). It is strongly recommended that these are completed prior to attempting the quiz in the same assigned module: week.

Virtual Labs and Post Lab Assessments (3)

Virtual (online) labs will be graded based on completion of labs and post-lab assessments. Labs will be due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the assigned Module: Week.

One physical hands-on experiment will be graded based on the quality of the student’s written interpretations of their results. The lab kit will be mailed to you by Liberty University for the physical lab.

Quizzes (8)

Quizzes will cover the Learn material for the Module: Week in which it is assigned. The quizzes are open-book/open-notes and will consist of multiple choice/check all that apply, true/false, matching, labeling, sequencing/ranking, classification, concept maps and short answer/essay questions. Quizzes will be due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the assigned Module: Week.
