PLST 310 Case Management and Ethical Considerations
Course Description
This course provides an overview of case management within the law office and addresses the relevant ethical guidelines. Students will learn about the tools necessary for managing cases including case management software and electronic filing systems with the courts. The course will also address the ethical duty regarding technology and confidentiality while also addressing implications relevant to the Christian worldview.

Rationale
The purpose of the course is to expose the learners to best practices for case management from the investigation and discovery phases of a case through the presentation of evidence in court.

Discussions (4)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. The purpose of the course Discussions is to generate interaction among the student and his/her classmates in regard to relevant current course topics. The student is required to post 1 thread of at least 250-300 words. The student must also post 2 replies to classmates’ threads of at least 100-150 words. For each thread, the student must support his/her assertions with at least 2 sources in current Bluebook format. Each reply must cite at least 1 source in current Bluebook format. Acceptable sources include the course textbook, the Bible, and legal sources.
Short Answer Assignments (2)
The student will write two essays of approximately 300-600 words answering a series of 3-4 questions using short answers. The student must cite a minimum of 2 scholarly sources in current Bluebook format.
Short Essay Assignments (2)
The student will write two short essays of approximately 500-800 words based on the prompts provided. The student must cite a minimum of 2 scholarly sources in current Bluebook format.
Quizzes (4)
There will be 4 open-book/open-notes quizzes that will be completed during the Module: Week in which they are assigned. Each quiz will contain 20 multiple-choice questions and will cover all of the required Learn materials found in the designated Module: Weeks. The student will have 1 hour to complete each quiz.
