Course Description

This is the second course for doctoral candidates in the process of developing and completing the research study and doctoral thesis. Doctoral candidates will develop chapters 3, 4, & 5 of the thesis and prepare a presentation for the final thesis defense.

Rationale

It is important that the doctoral student engage in research and present a capstone paper summarizing his or her research. The capstone thesis allows the student the opportunity to research and present a capstone paper.

Thesis/Project Submission: Proposal/Current Status Assignment

As the student moves through the process of preparing his or her thesis, the student will submit drafts to the committee for review. The feedback the student receives on these drafts will be a guide moving forward. The student will submit his or her proposal or, if his or her proposal has already been approved by the committee, the most recent version of his or her thesis.

Thesis Submission: Progress Check Assignments (8)

The student will submit the most recent version of his or her thesis. The thesis will be reviewed by his or her thesis mentor for improvement over previous drafts. The document must show substantive improvement over each previous draft in relation to quality and quantity.

Quiz: Thesis Handbook Acknowledgment

The Thesis Handbook provides essential information to the successful completion of the student's program requirements. This quiz will take the student to the link for his/her Thesis Handbook, and the student will be asked to agree to the Thesis Handbook Acknowledgment. The quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 yes/no question, and have no time limit.
