Course Description

This is the second course for doctoral candidates in the process of developing and completing the research study and doctoral thesis. Doctoral candidates will develop chapters 3, 4, & 5 of the thesis and prepare a presentation for the final thesis defense.

Rationale

It is important that the doctoral student engage in research and present a capstone paper summarizing their research. The capstone thesis allows the student the opportunity to research and present a capstone paper.

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.

Thesis/Project Submission: Proposal/Current Status Assignment

As the student moves through the process of preparing his/her thesis, the student will submit drafts to the committee for review. The feedback the student receives on these drafts will be a guide moving forward. The student will submit his/her proposal or, if his/her proposal has already been approved by the committee, the most recent version of his/her thesis.

Thesis Submission: Progress Check Assignments (8)

The student will submit the most recent version of his/her thesis. The thesis will be reviewed by his/her thesis mentor for improvement over previous drafts. The document must show substantive improvement over each previous draft in relation to quality and quantity.

Quiz: Thesis Handbook Acknowledgment

The Thesis Handbook provides essential information to the successful completion of the student's program requirements. This quiz will take the student to the link for his/her Thesis Handbook, and the student will be asked to agree to the Thesis Handbook Acknowledgment.
