The church and culture today need Christian leaders who can lead from a healthy spiritual foundation before they can lead others. What defines a Christian leader from godly character and commitment to pure motives and a servant’s attitude will be addressed.

Discussions (2)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be at least 800 words and supported with 2 scholarly citations in Turabian format and 2 Bible integrations. The student is required to reply to 3 other classmates’ threads with thoughtful analysis, and each reply must be at least 200 words. (CLO: A, B, C, D)

Research Paper: 10 Article Critiques on Christian Leadership Assignment

The student will access, research, and critique 10 Journal Articles that examine the character qualities or core values that shape a Christian Leader. Each critique will be no less than one page in length. Formatting of the paper will include a Title Page. Each content page will include a formatted bibliographic title of the article using Turabian style at the top of the paper. The critique will follow using correct Turabian formatting. The Articles should be written within a recent ten-year period. (CLO: A, B, D)

Reflection Log Assignments (3)

The student will write 3 Reflection Log entries recounting his/her spiritual reflections based on textbook readings and/or student interactions in discussions. Prompts for each Reflection Log will be provided. The student must incorporate at least 2 biblical integrations and write a minimum of 500 words for each Student’s Log entry.  These should be written in the first person, and examples given of personal application. Reflection Paper Assignments (2)

The student will write 2 Reflection Papers based on the assigned topic for the particular module. Each paper must include 3 separate headings: Introduction, Content, and Conclusion. The essay must also include a title page, contents, footnotes, and bibliography, follow Turabian format, and have a minimum of 2,000 words, as well as 5 scholarly sources (within the last ten years), in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. Interview With a Christian Leader Assignment

The student will schedule an appointment and conduct (in person preferred) an interview with a pastoral leader or a community Christian leader. Using Loritts’ Leadership As An Identity textbook, the student will explore the four traits during the interview process. Upon completion of the interview, the student will write a five-page Turabian-formatted paper summarizing the interview and discussing how the findings may impact the student.  Personal application is a major emphasis in the paper. Course Reflection Essay Assignment

The student will write a half-page summary on each of the nine assignments throughout the course and how the course has impacted his or her personal view of Christian Leadership. (CLO: A, B, C, D)

Quiz: Scheduling of Interview with a Christian Leader

The student will schedule an interview with a Christian leader and then complete the quiz to confirm their participation. The Quiz consists of three short-answer questions that will require the student to provide the name of the interviewee, the interviewee’s position/title, and the date of the scheduled interview. The quiz is untimed and allows multiple attempts.
