Course Description

Healthcare enterprise architecture planning, methodology, and frameworks; medical classification and coding systems including health record system design and implementation.

Rationale

Until the past decade, the medical arena has lagged in its reliance on enterprise support systems. The healthcare system has seen consistent failures in the adoption of electronic medical systems. This course serves to examine the complex requirements involved in correctly planning an enterprise healthcare system, including the use of electronic medical records. This course is a logical follow-up to the Informatics Information Systems.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be 400 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge, and include at least 1 scholarly reference in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 300 words and contain at least 1 scholarly reference in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.

The student will complete the Healthcare Enterprise System Project assignments. Each will build on one another. Each healthcare enterprise system project assignment must be in APA current edition format and contain 8–10 scholarly references in addition to the course textbook and the Bible.

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Modules: Weeks. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 5 true/false questions, 15 multiple-choice, and 5 short answer questions, and have a 30-minute time limit.
