Course Description

Study of retail merchandising concepts essential for buyers and managers within the creative industries. Emphasis is placed on buying procedures, assortment planning, inventory control, price, and profit analysis.

To equip the individual in entry-level management positions with sound merchandising theory and the ability to translate that theory into the profit factors that govern the day-to-day operations of any retail store

The Simulations Assignments will put you in charge of making merchandising decisions for a computer-generated company. You will compete against computer generated companies for market share, product satisfaction, and sales. Each simulation has a unique set of goals focusing on a specific merchandising topic. The simulations build on each other so completing them in order is essential to success. (CLOs: A, B, C, D, F).

Written Reflection Assignments (5)
