Course Description

The candidate will create all the documentation needed for their DMIN thesis in preparation for submitting their IRB application under the supervision of a mentor.

Rationale

In this course, the mentor will guide the candidate toward the completion and submission of all necessary IRB documents and application, as well as the completion of Chapter 1 of their DMIN thesis. Additionally, the student will revise Chapter 2 and begin writing Chapter 3 of the thesis.

Quizzes (2)

After a consultation with the assigned mentor, the student will take a quiz responding to an understanding of the expectations and requirements for completing the assignments in the course and thesis writing skills. In addition, the student will take a brief quiz concerning Liberty’s IRB process and requirements. (CLO: A)

Quiz: CITI Training

The student will enroll in a 4-hour training module provided by an outside source to learn the nuances of field research and IRB requirements. At the conclusion of the training, the student will take a quiz and will provide evidence of passing for a grade. (CLO: A)

Data Collection Documents Assignment

All the necessary documentation required by IRB, including any supplemental forms, will be completed and submitted for a grade prior to IRB. (CLO: A)

Prospectus Assignments (5)

The student will complete and perfect the DMIN Thesis Prospectus:

  • Chapter 1
  • Chapter 2
  • Chapter 3 Intervention Design
  • including a substantive bibliography. (CLO: B,C)
