Course Description
Given the changing landscape of ministry that is moving from embodied to embedded, we need a biblical model of spiritual formation that encompasses all possible ministry contexts. This course presents a biblical-ecological model of spiritual formation that identifies God’s design for growth in all the spheres over which he presides as Lord.

Rationale
This course falls within the Digital Formation Domain of Digital Ministry Practice and prepares students to think biblically and theologically about digital ministry in a variety of contexts and settings. It is needed in order to prepare students for ministry in any context including increasingly digital and online church ministry settings. The purpose of this course is to develop a model of spiritual formation that seeks to encompass a biblical-ecological framework for development in the digital age.

Spiritual Formation Framework Assignments (2)
Based upon your reading of Ecologies of Faith, and other material with which you may be familiar, you will develop a framework of spiritual formation for digital contexts. The first part will be the foundation for your framework will reflect biblical and theological components; the second part will be an identification of the ingredients necessary evident in formative growth. Congregational Ecoscan Assignments (3)
In this assignment, you will be conducting an analysis of your ministry context through the use of a network ecoscan. This three-part scan looks at ministry groups to determine connections, disconnections, and ecological impact of growth within the group. (CLO: B)
