Course Description

This course introduces students to a biblical and missional theology of the city. Students will learn that, beginning in Genesis and ending in the Book of Revelation, the Bible offers a distinctive view of the city and its place in the mission of God and the mission of the church. Students will acquire a solid biblical and theological framework within which they can design a ministry to the city that is faithful to God’s word and God’s mission while serving the distinctive needs of the city.

Rationale

Cities and urban metropolises are facing the 21st century challenges associated in a world with radical changes consisting of economic uncertainties, technological innovations, and social, ethical and religious values. Thus, this course academic journey provides the content to study and acquire the knowledge, to help Christian leaders and ministers, in the work to evangelize and disciple cities and urban metropolises’ populations with the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Course Assignment

After reading the Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.

You will post one thread of at least 300 words. You also are required to post two replies of at least 200 words. For each thread, you are required to support assertions with at least 3 scholarly citations and 3 Bible references in Turabian format. Each reply is required to incorporate at least 2 scholarly citations in Turabian format. Any sources cited are required to be published within the last five years. Acceptable sources are scholastic journals, academic and course textbooks. (CLOs: A, B, C, D)

This work describes in detail the practical process to start and implement a new ministry to reach with the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the population groups in the cities and urban metropolises of North America. The paper must be 5–6 pages in current Turabian format, with a minimum of 7 citations.
