ARTS 698 Practicum

An opportunity for students to pursue additional learning outcomes beyond studio courses, this course will further develop understanding of the principles of visual arts (e.g. form and content) through hands-on projects as approved by instructor of record.

Discussions (2)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. The thread must be at least 200 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 1 other classmate’s thread. The reply must be at least 75 words.

Proposal Assignment

The student will write at least 250 words detailing the work (deliverables) that he/she intends to generate for the course. The Proposal contents must clearly and concisely explain what the deliverables are, how the work supplements the student’s professional and academic goals, and the proposed timeline for development and completion.

Journal Entry Assignments (5)

The student will use the template provided in Blackboard to log journal entries based on his/her daily internship experience. Each daily entry must be at least 100 words.

Supervisor Evaluation: Midterm Assignment

The student will have his/her supervisor complete an evaluation of the student’s work using the provided evaluation form.

Deliverable: Midterm Assignment

Using Adobe Spark, the student will submit a 3-minute video presentation of the body of work previously outlined in the Proposal for Module/Week 4. The student is required to submit a minimum of 10 images of his/her practicum work for the Deliverable: Midterm Assignment.

Supervisor Evaluation: Final Assignment

The student will have his/her supervisor complete an evaluation of the student’s work using the provided evaluation form.

Deliverable: Final Assignment

Using Adobe Spark, the student will submit a 6-minute video presentation of the body of work previously outlined in the Proposal for Module 8. The student is required to submit a minimum of 20 images of his/her practicum work for the Deliverable: Final Assignment.
