COVID-19 Update: If you are classified as a “Residential” student and your classes have moved online due to COVID-19, Residential Tutoring Services has provided a way for you to meet with the residential tutors online through Microsoft Teams. Please visit the Tutoring Services website to schedule an online appointment with their office. Liberty University Online students should continue to use the Online Foreign Language Lab services.
Online Language Tutoring Sessions
Liberty University’s Online Foreign Language Lab (OFLL) works with students registered in the LUO Conversational Language classes to improve their comprehension, writing, listening, and speaking skills in German, French, and Spanish.
Schedule an Appointment
As you schedule your appointment, follow the OFLL Appointment Instructions.
Please note that these free services are available for LUO students enrolled in Conversational Language courses. If you are a residential student, you can schedule tutoring appointments on the Tutoring Services page.
Note: All OFLL tutoring appointments are held according to Eastern Standard Time (EST).
What to Expect
This is your opportunity to have an experienced tutor help you understand and learn more about the structure, grammar, interpretation, nuances, and cultural background of a foreign language. You’ll develop practical listening and speaking skills.
Your tutor has been screened, trained, and evaluated by our administration so you know you’ll have quality help. Your tutor will help you understand the language you’re studying, but it’s up to you to do the work. Professors and tutors work closely together so that all work is done according to the professor’s guidelines and standards.
What You’ll Need
Tutorials are held virtually through WebEx.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Computer with webcam
- Microphone and speakers (usually built into your computer)
- Study materials (textbook, CDs, documents, assignment instructions, etc.)
Please note that you must have your LU email inbox open at the time of your appointment. Our tutors may need to contact you via email before your session begins.
