CLED 750 Coaching Leaders

This course is focused on coaching current leaders or managers of faith-based organizations to improve personal performance, develop effective personal habits, and to contribute to a thriving culture of innovation and change. Additionally, students learn how to coach organizational leaders who are experiencing the challenges and conflicts that can arise from the implementation of transactional and transformational change strategies.

Discussions (4)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will engage in dialogue via online discussion throughout this course about selected topics related to organizational assessment. For these discussions, the student is required to create a thread of at least 400 words in length in response to the provided prompt for each discussion.  Each thread must include at least two scholarly citations. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads with 200 words for each reply. 

Connecting Theory and Coaching Assignment

In this assignment, the student will reflect on how key leadership theories inform their approach to coaching. Coaching is a critical expression of personal leadership. As such, it is important for developing coaches to have a firm grasp of how leadership theory informs their practice. Through good research, developing coaches will be able to understand better how they can influence those they coach with skill and deftness. The paper must be 1,250-1,750 words in length, meet APA style standards for professional papers, include a minimum of 7 scholarly sources. (CLO: C)

Understanding the Relationship Between Gifts, Personality, and Coaching Assignment

This assignment blends personal learning with professional development. The student will have the opportunity to complete a Spiritual Gifts Assessment as well as a Personality Assessment. Then, through reflection and deeper learning, the student will consider how their personalities impact the way that they implement their spiritual gifts. Upon further reflection, the student will consider how such a tool can be useful in a coaching relationship. The paper must be 4 -7 pages in length. (CLO: B, C)

Developing Awareness Within Teams Assignment

This assignment blends personal learning with professional development. The student will have the opportunity to complete the Working Genius Assessment to understand how they best contribute to a team. Then, through critical reflection, the student will assess how this tool can be used in a team coaching environment. This paper must be 5-7 pages in length. (CLO: A, B, C)

Developing Your Coaching Skills Assignment

This assignment challenges the student to develop key areas of growth related to their coaching skills and exposes them to a key coaching tool. Using the SMART goal method, the student will develop a plan to grow in one specific area related to their own coaching and reflect on why this skill represents a necessary area of growth for them personally. (CLO: B)
