Rationale
This course is foundational to the understanding of the structure and function of the human body. It provides the necessary framework upon which other biomedical courses develop and expand the knowledge needed for the student planning on a career in the healthcare community.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will create a thread in response to the provided prompt. Each thread must be at least 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student will reply to the threads of at least 2 classmates. Each reply must be at least 150 words.
Audio PowerPoint Presentation Assignment
The student will create an Audio PowerPoint presentation on an organ of the body assigned to him or her. The student will include a description of the anatomy, physiology, and common pathologies of the assigned organ. The Audio PowerPoint presentation must be 8–15 minutes long and include at least 3 references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.

Each Quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module: Week. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain true/false and multiple-choice questions, and have a time limit as follows:
- Quiz: Anatomy Overview and the Back – 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Quiz: The Thorax Overview, Superficial Thoracic and Deep Thoracic – 1 hour
- Quiz: The Mediastinum and the Heart – 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Quiz: The Abdomen: Overview, Superficial Abdomen, and Digestive System – 1 hour
- Quiz: The Pelvis, and the Male and Female Reproductive Systems – 1 hour
- Quiz: The Brain, Spinal Cord and Special Senses – 1 hour and 15 minutes
Quizzes: Exams (2)
The Quiz: Midterm Exam will cover the information from the first half of the course and the Quiz: Final Exam will cover the information from the second half. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain true/false and multiple-choice questions. Both exams will have a time limit of 2 hours.
