Dissertation Research Project Tasks (3)

Candidates are eligible for enrollment in this course only when they have a fully approved manuscript.  For each Task required in this course, the candidate must review the information concerning the task in the Doctoral Programs Dissertation Handbook located in the SOE Doctoral Community. After the candidate has completed the task according to the requirements, he/she will submit it to the corresponding assignment in Canvas. After the task is submitted, the chair will review the completed task and provide feedback. The candidate must resubmit his/her task assignments with revisions until the chair grants approval.

  • Task 12: Final Doctoral Applied Research Defense Presentation

  • Task 13A: Submission of Final Manuscript for Archiving in Course

  • Task 13B: Submission of Final Manuscript to JF Library

The candidate is responsible for planning ahead for the tasks in this course so that the pace or rate of progression required in this course can be maintained. Although the submission links for the tasks are provided in the assigned modules, the candidate is permitted to complete them in succession prior to their assigned due dates and as the candidate and the mentoring chair arrange. The candidate and mentoring chair will collaboratively evaluate the candidate’s progress in the course so that the time needed for the remaining tasks in the candidate’s doctoral journey can be forecasted. (CLO: A, B, C)

Quizzes (3)

The Attendance Task Check-In Quizzes are designed to help the candidate self-report progress in developing the dissertation manuscript. These quizzes serve as a checkpoint for the candidate to reflect on the work accomplished, ensure the candidate is meeting course activity and attendance requirements, and keep the candidate on track. Each quiz contains 2-5 true/false questions, is worth 1 point, and is a self-reported acknowledgement of weekly progress.
