Rationale
Human Center Design Capstone Project allows the student the opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of the knowledge and skills learned throughout the program. The student’s time will be dedicated to a singular project which will reflect their understanding of the Human Centered Design process. The project will provide the student with a substantial project they can include within their portfolio.

Discussions (8)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. Each thread must be 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 150 words. For each thread, the student must cite the textbook. (CLO: A ,B, C, D, E)
Topic Ideation Assignment
The student will brainstorm, ideate, and define a viable real-world problem to serve as the basis of their capstone project. For each of the problems, the student will write 300 words that answer the criteria provided. (CLO: A)
Project Planning Assignment
The student will draft a personalized plan detailing how they will execute their capstone project from beginning to end. This assignment will include a 150 word analysis, a 150 word reflection, and an Excel Spreadsheet. (CLO: B)
Annotated Bibliography Assignment
The student will find and analyze a minimum of 20 relevant sources related to their identified problem to serve as citable materials for their upcoming research report. (CLO: C)
Research Report Assignment
The student will write a 20-page topical report of the identified problem by reviewing the relevant literature as to inform the problem-solving process. This assignment must include 20 citations. (CLO: C)
Prototype Assignment
The student will develop a prototype solution to the identified problem. This assignment must include a 150-word problem identification, a 1,000-word prototype documentation, and a 300-word reflection and evaluation. (CLO: D)
User Testing Assignment
The student will test their prototype and document the finding for future revisions. In 300 words, the student will analyze and synthesize the collected data. In 300 words, the student will reflect on the user testing process and the solution’s effectiveness in addressing the problem. (CLO: D)
Revisions Assignment
The student will use the results of their user testing and create a revised prototype, documenting the changes made. This assignment must be 1000 words in length. (CLO: D)
Documentation and Presentation Assignment
The student will create a 20-minute multimedia presentation detailing their identified problem, research, prototype, testing, and revisions. A final summative document will accompany the presentation. (CLO: E)
