Rationale
Those who pursue music as a career often need advanced skills in audio mixing, and mastering. This is particularly true for those training in commercial music. This course will prepare the student to produce high quality audio mixed music and to engage appropriately with mixing and mastering technology.

Discussion: Biblical Worldview Scenario
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete one Discussion in this course. The student will post 1 thread of at least 500 words and 2 replies of at least 150 words each. The student must support his/her assertions with at least 1 Scriptural citation in Turabian format for each thread and reply and demonstrate both their own and a biblical worldview. Any sources cited must have been published within the last 5 years. Acceptable sources include the textbook, the Bible, and industry publications and/or websites.

Pro Tools Mixing Template Assignment
For this assignment, the student will be setting up a mixing template in Avid Pro Tools that will allow the student to set up future mix sessions. The student will follow the provided guide and will submit his/her completed session as a Pro Tools template session file into Canvas.
Static Mix and Processing Assignment
For this assignment, the student will be creating a static mix in Avid Pro Tools. The student will utilize the provided Client Pro Tools Session Song Files and guidelines to create his/her mix. The student will record the mix to the Print audio track and export the session file as a 320kbps stereo MP3. The student will submit the Pro Tools mix session file along with the stereo MP3 of the static mix into Canvas.
Pro Tools Mixing Automation Assignment
For this assignment, the student will apply automation to his/her mix to shape the balances using his/her own creativity while also following the required automation moves. The student will then Print the automated mix to a playlist and submit the Pro Tools mix session file along with the stereo MP3 of the automated mix into Canvas.
Mix Bus Processing and Versions Assignment
For this assignment, the student will refine his/her mix bus processing and versions of his/her mix by following the provided guide. The student will generate all required mix versions on Print track playlists and upload the Pro Tools mix session file along with the stereo MP3 exports of all mix versions into Canvas.
Client Delivery and Stems Assignment
For this assignment, the student will follow the provided guide to generate stem mixes per industry standards and prepare his/her Pro Tools session for delivery to the client. The Pro Tools mix session file and stereo MP3 exports of all stem mixes will be submitted into Canvas.
DAW Mastering Assignment
For this assignment, the student will download the provided DAW Mastering Assignment Song Files and master the song within it. Following the provided guide, the student will master the song at two specific loudness levels and export the mastered song at both loudness levels to three different audio file types and resolutions. The Pro Tools mastering session file, all mastered and exported audio files, and screenshots of loudness metering will be submitted into Canvas.

Quizzes will be given on a regular basis to test understanding of assigned Learn items. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 10 questions that may include multiple choice, matching, multiple-answer, and essay questions, and have a 1-hour time limit. Each quiz may be attempted twice, with the highest score counting towards the grade. (CLO: A, B, C)
