Course Description
Introduction to the PhD Organization & Management and PhD Business Administration programs. This course provides an overview of core areas of business and management, student expectations, the process of conducting scholarly research, strategies for success, and university resources.

Rationale
Students will be introduced to current theoretical and applied research in a Business PhD. Emphasis will be placed on producing writing that adheres to the standards of the PhD Organization & Management and PhD Business Administration programs while providing a survey of current research.

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, this course requires 3 distinct discussions. The student is required to create a thread in response to the criteria for each prompt. Each thread must be 300-500 words, include 2 scholarly sources (published within the last 5 years), and biblical integration. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 1 other classmate’s thread; each reply must be 250–300 words. Each thread and each reply must include at least 2 scholarly sources (published within the last 5 years) and relevant biblical integration. All citations and references must be in current APA format.
The student will be required to submit two annotated bibliographies of the sources that they review for a Business PhD topic area and theory. The specific requirements, point weightings, grading rubrics, and due dates are listed in Canvas.

The course requires a paper that evaluates the ethical and Biblical implications of a specific business theory from one of the common professional Business PhD areas of Organizational & Management Business Administration based on a framework of human dignity and Christian worldview concepts. The specific requirements, point weightings, grading rubrics, and due dates are listed in Canvas.
