To help ensure that your move-in or move-out of Liberty’s residence halls runs smoothly, follow the procedures below.
Making Your Transition a Good One
Spring 2026 Move-In
New Students: New students may arrive to check in to their rooms starting on Thursday, January 15, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Students should go directly to their hall to check in with their RAs upon arrival, where they will receive their key and access to their room. RAs will be available on the hall for check-in until 10 p.m.

Returning Students: Returning students may arrive to check in to their rooms starting on Friday, January 16, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Students should go directly to their hall to check in with their RAs upon arrival, where they will receive their key and access to their room. RAs will be available on the hall for check-in until 10 p.m.

Early Arrival Requests: If you need to move into your residence hall before the date the residence halls open (January 15 for new students and January 16 for returning students), you must submit an Early Arrival Request in the Res Life Portal. Early Arrival requests will open in November 2025.
Cost: The fee for arriving early is $20 per day, which only covers the cost of your room. Dining arrangements are not included.
Check-In: Upon arrival to campus, you will need to check in at the Office of Residence Life, located on the ground level of Commons 2, during regular business hours to gain badge access and/or pick up your key to your room.
Fall 2025 Move-Out
Checkout Basics
All students must complete their White Glove Checkout with their RAs and make arrangements to be out of the residence halls within 24 hours after their last exam. Please follow the guide for Student Checkout Instructions which lists Student Responsibilities and potential fines.
Residence halls close on December 12 at 12 p.m.
To request an extension to stay past the residence hall’s closing date, please see below for information on submitting a Beyond Checkout request.
Beyond Checkouts for Fall 2025 will open in November. Students wishing to remain on campus past the official closure of the residence halls must submit a Beyond Checkout request in the Res Life Portal.
Fall 2025 Move-In
New Students: New students may arrive to check in to their rooms starting on Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Students should go directly to their hall to check in with their RAs upon arrival, where they will receive their key and access to their room. RAs will be available on the hall for check-in until 10 p.m.
New students may sign up for a move-in timeslot in the ResLife Portal.
