Master of Public Health (M.P.H.)

Residential Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) Program

Enhance your marketable credentials in the public health field with a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from Liberty University. Here, you can target your unique interests through our concentrations in community health promotion, environmental health, epidemiology, global health, nutrition, or public health policy.

With a Master of Public Health, you will be able to analyze data, shape public health policies, contribute to monitoring public health threats, and conduct public health research—depending on the degree concentration you choose.

In the public health field, the M.P.H., an applied science degree, is comparable to an M.B.A. in the business sector. Epidemiology (the study of epidemics and the spread of diseases) and biostatistics are the foundation of the M.P.H. degree.

Our professors are grounded in their Christian faith, hold advanced degrees, and have experience in academia, government agencies, healthcare, and global health organizations.

As part of the Master of Public Health program, students must complete the entire MPH Gate System, pass a competency exam, and complete a 120-hour practicum. You will complete a practicum field experience in an organization, agency, or community group that provides planning or services relevant to the public health specialization you choose. The MPH practicum experience, similar to an internship, will give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the academic program under the direction of a preceptor/supervisor and with guidance from the Director of Practicum.
