Residential Nutrition MPH

Gain advanced knowledge about public health nutrition with a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Nutrition from Liberty University. Here, you will learn how to evaluate food availability, food source security, and the impact of nutrition on the overall health of a community.

This concentration seeks to eliminate food deserts and enhance food choices through public health policy.

Are you passionate about nutrition and healthcare delivery, a career in public health governance, and serving in the global public health sector? Or, are you interested in making an impact through public health research? If so, the M.P.H. – Nutrition degree program could be a great fit for you.

Topics studied in this degree program include:

  • biochemistry of cellular nutrition
  • application of nutritional sciences to individuals and populations
  • factors that affect food safety and food supply systems
  • relationship between food system assessment and analysis
  • processes involved in the development of food safety regulations and nutrition as it affects population health

Depending on your degree concentration, with a Master of Public Health, you will be able to analyze data, shape public health policies, contribute to monitoring public health threats, and conduct public health research. In the public health fields, an M.P.H. is comparable to an M.B.A. in the business sector.

Our professors are grounded in their Christian faith, hold advanced degrees, and have experience in academia, government agencies, healthcare, and global health organizations.

Liberty University’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program offers students access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources to enhance their educational experience. With the M.P.H. practicum, you’ll be able to apply the knowledge and skills you learn in the classroom to real-world experiences in the field under the direction of a preceptor/supervisor and with guidance from the Director of Practicum.

The MPH Nutrition specialization does not focus on individual dietary management or provide a pathway to a registered dietician licensure.

The Master of Public Health is offered by Liberty’s Department of Public Health in the School of Health Sciences. The M.P.H. – Nutrition is also available online.

CEPH Accreditation

The Department of Public Health degree programs are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). This is in addition to Liberty University’s institutional accreditation.
