CINE Professor, Doug Miller, recently traveled to Orlando, Florida to accept an award at the International Christian Film Festival. Doug`s film, "The Mulligan" won Best Cinematography. This is the first time that ICFF has awarded a Cinematography award in its 15 year history.

Congratulations to Professor Miller!

Lindsay Anton is one of our graduating seniors in Communication! Lindsay has served as a student worker in the Dean`s office for the past two years and also is a valuable member of the Forensics team.

This summer, Lindsay will be a PR intern for a news broadcasting professional development company. She will return to Liberty in the fall to pursue her Master’s in Critical/Influential Communication while being a GSA.

Lindsay would like to advise underclassmen to "employ their voices effectively by conducting thorough research. It is imperative to communicate with respect and understand diverse perspectives. Also, build relationships with your professors. They have created a nurturing learning environment which refines students into stronger Champions for Christ."

Congratulations to Lindsay and all of our other 2023 graduates! 🎓

Dr. Carey Martin’s screenplay, The Last Cruise of CPO Hanahan, was honored by the Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts with the “Best of Competition” award in the Faculty Scriptwriting - Short Narrative Film category. The award, announced in an online event last week, is the result of a double-anonymized peer-reviewed process; the Festival received over 1600 entries across all categories for the 2023 event. This marks the second year in a row that the Festival has recognized Dr. Martin’s work; last year, his script Night Falls on Tinseltown earned the “Best of Competition” award in the Short Narrative Film/Half-hour Television division. This also marks Dr. Martin’s sixth award for creative work from the BEA, five total for screenwriting and one for narrative video. All have been earned during Dr. Martin’s tenure with Liberty University. “I am so grateful for the support of Liberty, my chairs, my dean, and my online administrators,” Dr. Martin states.

On Jan. 13, Prof. Amy Bonebright appeared on the TV show “Capitol Report” on NTD News to offer a journalistic perspective of the media coverage about the discovery of classified documents at President Joe Biden’s Penn-Biden Center office. This interview took place when there had only been one discovery of documents. The clip aired on the show and then was shared on NTD News` website and social media.
