Jamie grew up in Fullerton, California. At the age of 19, professional music drew him from Southern California, to central Ohio, and eventually to play guitar with the CCM group Truth. Following Truth, He settled in Alabama, where he became a songwriter with the worship company Integrity Music.
As an exclusive songwriter with Integrity, Jamie wrote several popular worship songs, including “Ancient of Days,” “Because We Believe,” “Firm Foundation,” and “Garments of Praise.” With Maranatha! Music and Worship International, Jamie taught alongside other leaders at evangelical worship workshops. He also recorded and toured as guitarist with Paul Baloche and Praise Band in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. He traveled with Maranatha! as a featured worship leader in churches and conferences throughout the U.S., Canada, and abroad.
Including tenure as a conference teacher and songwriter—while serving local churches—Jamie was led to teach worship in an academic setting and began his journey toward completing a Master’s degree and a Doctorate in worship studies. He continues to write songs, produce recordings, play guitar, and mentor worship creatives. Jamie is currently an online adjunct professor in the School of Music at Liberty University. He and his wife Brenda have two married children and five grandchildren. He is currently a worship leader and an associate pastor in a growing church on Alabama’s beautiful Gulf Coast.
