Biography

​Mr. Ortz currently teaches Music Technology for the School of Music at Liberty University, in addition to teaching a small studio of private students in composition and trumpet performance from his home studio. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Chichester in 2018. He graduated summa cum laude in 2015 from the School of Music at Westminster College, where he studied composition and trumpet performance. Mr. Ortz has nearly a decade of experience teaching music in public schools in Pennsylvania, having held positions as both a band director and orchestra director.

Mr. Ortz is an internationally-commissioned composer, having composed and recorded soundtracks for various film studios, corporate films, and animations, as well as orchestrated pieces for professional orchestras, big bands, and wind ensembles. He has received awards from the music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, the International Trumpet Guild, and the Frank & Esther VanDyke McClure Music Talent Award for his original compositions. In addition to his composition portfolio, he is the owner of Silverling Virtual Studio and the Worship Arts Director at Grace Chapel Community Church.
