Fulbright U.S. Student Program

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and is the largest U.S. exchange program for students, graduates and young professionals. The program offers opportunities for international graduate studyadvanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools worldwide. The U.S. Student Program currently awards approximately 1,700 grants annually to engage in all fields of study, research, or teaching assistantships and operates in more than 135 countries worldwide.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant applications will be available beginning March 31 and will be accepted for the 2023-2024 grant cycle. Email Edna Udobong, Liberty University Fulbright Program Advisor and Scholar Liaison, to schedule an appointment to discuss the application requirements and the Liberty University Fulbright interview process.

You should begin the application process as early as possible, but at least three months prior to the campus deadline of August 15.

Follow the application procedures and submit your completed application by August 5. Your application package materials will be reviewed by a faculty member who will provide feedback to help to make your application as competitive as possible.

Eligibility

Graduating Students
Alumni
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Currently enrolled at Liberty University and will hold a bachelor or dual degree by the time of the grant
  • Meet Fulbright country requirements
  • Fulbright provides stipends and travel allowances to spouses and dependents.
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Will not have a Ph.D. degree on the application deadline of Oct. 13
  • Meet Fulbright country requirements
  • Graduate students may qualify for other awards, if graduation from Liberty University has been more than 3-5 years (preferably)
  • Liberty University Fulbright Campus Evaluation Committee will review applications in Aug. and Sept.
