• EDLC 504: Educational Philosophy and Theories of Learning (MAT Candidates) (Gate 1 can also be completed concurrently with EDLC 504)
• EDUC 604: Foundations of Education (MED: Curriculum & Instruction Candidates)
• EDAS 645: Foundations for Educational Leaders (MED: Administration & Supervision, MED: Math Specialist, MED: Reading Specialist Candidates)

Requirements

Background Check Purchase required for the following programs/courses:

• MAT (all cognates)
• MAT to EdS (all cognates)
• MED: Administration & Supervision
• MED: Math Specialist
• MED: Reading Specialist
• MED: Curriculum & Instruction (Early Childhood Education and Gifted Education cognates only)
• MED: Special & Gifted Education – Twice Exceptionalities
• EdS/EdD: Administration & Supervision
• Any course that requires field experience

• Purchase Receipt of Background Clearances
  • Criminal Background
  • FBI Fingerprints
  • Virginia Child Abuse Clearances (required for all students completing placement in Virginia)
  • Individual state child abuse clearances (required for residential students or those completing placement in the local area)
