The Liberty University Spirit Band functions as a service ensemble for Liberty University, performing primarily at home basketball games and postseason play. The ensemble rehearses regularly from November through March. The Spirit Band performs a wide variety of musical selections before large public audiences in attendance at basketball games as well as radio and television audience. The membership is comprised of approximately 30 auditioned Liberty University students and one director.
Auditions are held during the later portion of marching band season before the basketball season begins. See the director for exact date and times. Placement for all positions is considered open and is not necessarily dependent on prior-year membership.
Tuition-based scholarships are available for all participants and are applied to Spring semester financial aid.
2019-2020 Auditions will be held in Room 059 Instrumental Commons on Sunday, October 27th, 6-8pm.
