Biography

Dr. John G. Coots is a Professor and Co-Clinical Coordinator for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Degree Program at Liberty University. Dr. Coots teaches within the School of Health Sciences’  Department of Allied Health Professions. He began his career as an Interim Assistant Professor/Assistant Athletic Trainer at Houghton University (College). He was a Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer/Teacher for Nelson County Public Schools (16 years). He enjoys mentoring students to master the content and clinical skills required to successfully pass the BOC Certification Exam and provide the highest quality of healthcare. Dr. Coots continues to be blessed with the distinct honor and privilege of impacting the lives of each student God places in his classes/LABS and assisting the LU ATP in its mission of “Training Champions for Christ”. His passion is to remain faithful to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as he endeavors to mentor students as they strive to become Compassionate, Empathic, Patient-centered, Christ-like Healthcare Providers.
