CAEP Accreditation

Liberty University School of Education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The School of Education received accreditation for both initial licensure and advanced licensure programs in the fall of 2022. The School of Education also received CAEP’s Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement Award.  The School of Education will undergo their next CAEP review cycle in the spring of 2029.

CAEP promotes excellence in educator preparation through content and pedagogy, clinical partnerships and practice, candidate recruitment, progression and support, program impact, and quality assurance and continuous improvement. Liberty University meets rigorous national standards for educator preparation set by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

Graduates of Liberty’s Teacher Licensure and Advanced Licensure Programs are eligible for licensure by:

  • Commonwealth of Virginia, in the teacher candidate’s approved specialization
  • Other states by reciprocal agreement
  • Association of Christian Schools International (certification)
