Academic Scholarship
Academic scholarships for transfer students are based on specific requirements and the charts below:
- Liberty will use the best of the high school GPA or a simple average of all college GPAs in which the student transferred between 12 and 24 credit hours.
- Liberty will super score both the ACT (all sections of subtests) and the SAT (Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing or Critical Reading only)
- A transfer student’s GPA (12-24 credit hours) and best SAT/ACT scores will be used to determine his/her academic scholarship using the charts below:
Students with 25+ Credits
- For students who are transferring at least 25+ college credit hours, or who have a conferred associate degree from an accredited institution, college GPA* only will be used.
- College credits earned through Liberty are not eligible to be considered for the purposes of this scholarship (i.e., courses taken previously on campus at LU, online through LUO, through LCA Dual Enrollment, or through LUOA Dual Enrollment)
*Must have earned at least 12 college credits from one institution for the college GPA to be used; if there are multiple institutions from which 12+ credits are earned, a simple average of those institutions’ GPAs is used.
**The grid above reflects the Bonus amounts students are eligible to receive per year based on the Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) portions of the SAT or the composite score of the ACT or the CLT, with at least a 3.0 GPA. Test Score Bonus: Super scoring is used for the ACT (all four subtests), the SAT (Math and ERW), and the CLT. Submission of SAT, ACT, or CLT scores is not a requirement to be eligible for the academic scholarship, but it is a requirement to be considered for the test score bonuses listed above.
