Strengthen Your Ministry Through In-Depth Biblical Study with Liberty’s MDiv in Christian Ministries – Biblical Interpretation
Enhance your ability to interpret Scripture and build a stronger biblical foundation for ministry with Liberty University’s Master of Divinity (MDiv) in Christian Ministries – Biblical Interpretation. Designed for current and aspiring pastors, ministry leaders, and scholars who desire a more robust engagement with the Bible, this program offers advanced coursework in hermeneutics and exegesis to support thoughtful, effective ministry rooted in Scripture.
This MDiv degree emphasizes the development of key interpretive skills, including analyzing biblical texts within their historical and cultural settings, drawing theological applications for today’s ministry challenges, and clearly communicating Scripture’s meaning. Courses in Old and New Testament studies, biblical languages like Greek and Hebrew, and hermeneutical methods aim to deepen your comprehension of the Bible’s structure and message.
In addition to focused study of the Bible, the MDiv in Christian Ministries – Biblical Interpretation includes training in topics like pastoral counseling, intercultural engagement, biblical multiplication, and critical issues facing the Church. These elements are designed to help you prepare to apply your academic studies in real-world ministry settings, which you’ll have the opportunity to do during the included practicum. Whether your calling involves preaching, teaching, biblical scholarship, or another aspect of ministry, our aim is to help you grow in your ability to faithfully and effectively serve the Church. Partner with us and pursue your ministry goals!
What’s the Difference Between the Biblical Interpretation and Advanced Biblical Interpretation Degree Tracks?
Liberty’s MDiv in Christian Ministries offers a biblical interpretation track and an advanced biblical interpretation track. For the most part, these 2 specializations cover the same courses and topics of study. The only difference is that the advanced biblical interpretation track includes a thesis component, while the biblical interpretation track does not.
This means you can pick the option that best suits your interests and career goals! If you’d like to do a deep dive into a particular divinity topic, conduct scholarly research, and demonstrate your expertise by writing a thesis, the advanced biblical interpretation track may be right for you. Alternatively, if you’re looking to complete a slightly shorter course of study that lets you hone your knowledge of Scripture and prepare for potential doctoral studies without needing to complete a thesis, the regular biblical interpretation track may be a better fit.
