Liberty University’s Whistleblower Policy  exists to promote an environment that is free from wrongful conduct. We strive to adhere to a higher standard — God’s standard (2 Corinthians 8:21). All members of the university community, including students and employees, are encouraged — acting in good faith and without fear of retaliation — to report suspected wrongful conduct, such as fraud, waste, misconduct, or abuse of LU assets. All covered persons under the policy shall not be subject to retaliation for making a report in good faith about potential or actual wrongful conduct by others or participating in an investigation in good faith, whether the report is specifically under this policy or not. The policy offers reporting options, including an online portal for anonymous reports. The online portal is operated by an outside third-party vendor trusted by many other institutions of higher education to ensure confidentiality and to enable anonymous reporting if the reporter so desires.

To report suspected wrongful conduct under the policy, you can access the portal at Liberty.edu/Whistleblower. You may also make reports to the internal auditor or, in certain situations, the general counsel, whose contact information can be found in the Whistleblower Policy.

The Office of Equity & Compliance (OEC) is committed to creating a safe environment, providing supportive measures, and ensuring a neutral process for those who have experienced sexual misconduct or discrimination. Students or employees who experience or witness sexual misconduct or discrimination should report an incident to OEC as soon as possible using this link or by emailing OEC@liberty.edu. Certain employees are required to report any information regarding sexual misconduct and must report sexual misconduct as soon as possible. Please take a few minutes to read through your reporting requirements if you are an employee.

The Employee Relations team in Human Resources exists to resolve employment-related issues including, but not limited to:

  • Human Resources policy interpretation
  • Disciplinary performance management
  • HR investigations
  • Employee discipline and misconduct
  • Remediation of employment-related disputes

Human Resources is committed to upholding our values, including treating every employee with the same level of dignity and respect. If you need to submit a formal employee complaint to Human Resources, please email EmployeeRelations@liberty.edu.

Your concerns may not fall into one of the previous categories. Liberty’s Office of Equity and Compliance (OEC) has compiled a list of resources for any additional concerns you may have, which you can find here https://www.liberty.edu/title-ix/report-something-else/.
