Subject-Based Tutoring

Students Tutoring in Study Groups

Tutoring Services offers subject-based tutoring during the fall and spring semesters at no additional cost to Liberty University residential undergraduate students. Tutoring Services employs academically excellent students, who have a desire to assist their peers to improve or maintain their academic excellence. Subjects are offered based on tutor availability, but typically include at least 50 courses such as accounting, Bible, biology, chemistry, math, psychology, and theology.

One-on-one tutoring is provided for all available courses so that you can receive individualized assistance from your tutor regarding any course content you may wish to learn, discuss, or review.

Group tutoring is offered for certain courses to meet a high-demand for tutoring. Group tutoring provides a safe atmosphere for you to learn alongside your fellow classmates.

Tutoring appointments are highly recommended to ensure that a tutor is available to meet with you. All appointments must be made at least 12 hours in advance.

Student Testimonials

  • "I understand the material nearly twice as well as I did compared to when I originally walked into tutoring."
  • "[My tutor] was extremely knowledgeable about this subject and helped me more than anyone else has before. … She explained everything with extreme detail by memory and using notes that were very informative. She encouraged me to do my best and every time I did not understand something she would either suggest or explain in detail what I needed to fix and why. I feel so much more comfortable in this subject now."
  • "[My tutor] was very kind, clear, and extremely helpful. I was impressed by her knowledge of the subject matter and how she was able to clearly communicate it."
