What Will You Learn in Our BSN Accelerated Degree?

Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Accelerated Pre-Licensure Program is divided into 3 sections: general education courses, foundational courses, and major-specific courses.

The general education section of your degree consists of courses in English, information literacy, critical thinking, civic and global engagement, and Christianity. Through this section of the degree, you will be taught critical thinking skills that can serve you well as you venture into nursing coursework.

The foundational section of your degree is largely comprised of lab-based instruction. You will learn about microbiology for nursing professionals, chemistry for nurses, the fundamentals of human nutrition, and professional statistics. In this section of our accelerated BSN degree, you’ll also study biomedical ethics, general psychology, and developmental psychology.

The major section of your degree features an introduction to nursing and medical terminology, instruction in cellular pathophysiology for nurses, and research and writing in nursing. You’ll also be taught an accelerated version of foundational nursing studies, nursing care for adults, and nursing care for children. In addition, you will be taught pharmacology, nursing care for families, and how mental health influences one’s overall health. Lastly, you’ll study nursing leadership and practices for the critically ill.

Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Degrees

Every application is reviewed by the admission committee on a case-by-case basis, meaning there are no set minimums for acceptance. However, all applicants must submit the following documents* for admission:

  • Admission application
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Official college transcripts (if applicable)
  • Results from the CLT, SAT, or ACT are not required for admission, but may be used in consideration for merit-based aid.
  • Admission essay

*Note that additional documentation may be requested by the admission committee after your application has been received.

Acceptance into Liberty does not guarantee acceptance into this program. Students will need to apply to the School of Nursing once admitted to the university.

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Completion of all general education requirements and foundational courses
  • 2ndDegree: completion/conferral of a bachelor’s degree in another subject
  • Signed Non-Work Agreement
  • Completed Nursing Application

If you do not meet all the above requirements, you may be eligible to apply to the BS in Nursing: Pre-Licensure program.
