Experience Liberty University
Choosing a college is a big decision — one that you won’t make without doing your research, talking to people you trust, and visiting the campuses you’re considering. Many schools fit their university experience into a short presentation, tour, and Q & A.
While short-and-sweet campus tours are convenient, do you really want to commit the next 4 years of your life after just a 4-hour visit (or less)?
At Liberty University’s College For A Weekend, you can spend 3 days test-driving life as an LU student, exploring our more than 7,000-acre campus, and getting all your college questions answered. You’re anything but a typical student, so CFAW is anything but a typical college tour. Design your perfect college visit at Liberty University. Endless possibilities — all in one place.

The countdown to college has begun. You’ve spent years investing in your child, and this is their first big decision. They’re smart, independent, and capable, but family time is becoming more precious, and the college search is a journey you want to take together.
At Liberty University, we understand. Helping your son or daughter decide what to do with 4 years and their future is a big commitment. It’s an investment that deserves more than what a typical 4-hour college tour can provide. So College For A Weekend is more than a typical college tour. It’s a 3-day immersive event.

What will your student experience at CFAW?
- Attending college classes with accomplished professors and future classmates
- Meet future roommates and classmates that will become friends for life as they connect at CFAW
- Eating in our award-winning dining hall with over 20 available food stations
- Enjoying our on-campus activities — including skiing or snowboarding at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, and more
What will you get out of CFAW as a parent? You will…
Parent Breakout Sessions
Don’t miss our dedicated parent sessions, where you’ll learn how your student will be supported at Liberty and discuss next steps and financial aid.
Parents have heard from New York Times bestselling author and LU parent Karen Kingsbury, Chief Financial Officer Dr. Robert Ritz, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Scott Hicks, and other LU parents.
Details on time and location will be included in your Event Guide.
Session topics include:
- Campus Safety and Security: Keeping You Safe
- Student Services
- Campus Housing & Dining
Parent Connect Event
Network with other LU parents and local alumni at our CFAW Parent & Alumni Connect Thursday night. Enjoy a laid-back evening of conversation, music, and light refreshments as you connect with others who have been where you are and can give you a seasoned perspective on life at Liberty. Check your weekend event guide or parent connect itinerary for specific times and locations.
Local Accommodations and Dining
You can find more information on local hotels and area attractions in our planning guide.
For detailed dining information, check out our dining options available during CFAW. This includes special pricing for parents.
What else should you know before arriving?
- CFAW is for parents too! While it doesn’t cost anything, it’s important that when your student registers or you register your student, you include a headcount of who will be joining your student for the weekend. Whether it’s you as the parent, guardian, or other family members, your RSVP helps us accommodate everyone joining us for CFAW.
- Our current students are excited to welcome your student to our campus but please keep in mind that we are not allowing any students to stay in the residence halls as part of CFAW, so be sure to secure off campus accommodations for both you and your student. But don’t worry! There are plenty of activities planned to give your students the full Liberty experience. Check out our schedule and events page for more information.
- Students attending CFAW must have their CFAW Guest Flames Pass at all times. A Flames Pass gives your student entrance to the dining hall, Convocation, and access to the student section for home football, baseball, softball and women’s basketball.
