Endowments
Named Scholarships
An endowment funds student scholarships, academic programs, experiential learning programs, and more. The university invests charitable donations of money or property with the goal of providing additional income in the future.
- Minimum Amount to Establish an Endowment: $50,000
- Maximum Time Limit to Reach Full Endowment: Up to 5 years
Establishing a named scholarship at Liberty University requires a monetary gift that is contributed one time or annually. Financial awards are made based on the amount contributed by the donor and will be awarded two times during the academic year (half in the fall semester and half in the spring semester).
- Minimum Amount to Establish a Named Scholarship: $5,000
Steps for Establishing a Named Scholarship
1. Contact the Office of Development to inquire about arrangements that best suit your financial and charitable goals. You can also inquire about areas of need.
2. Determine how the annual distributions from the fund will be expended.
3. Once the distributions have been determined, a draft gift agreement will be prepared for review and execution. This agreement will outline how Liberty University will administer the funds.
